In 1953 schreef Ian Fleming zijn eerste James Bond avontuur "Casino Royale". Op dat moment was Ian Fleming vertegenwoordiger in het buitenland voor Kemsley Newspapers, een organisatie in het bezit van de London Sunday Times. Om dat werk te aanvaarden eiste Ian Fleming twee maanden verlof per jaar. Vanaf dat moment tot en met zijn dood in 1964 trok Ian Fleming zich elke zomer terug in zijn buitenverblijf "Goldeneye" op het eiland Jamaica. Hij schreef daar zijn 14 James Bond-boeken, James Bond was geboren. Na Fleming's dood hebben Kingsley Amis, John Gardner en Raymond Benson de pen overgenomen. In 2005 komt het eerste boek van de Young Bond-serie uit, geschreven door Charlie Higson over het leven van de dertienjarige James Bond. Hieronder staat een compleet overzicht van alle James Bond-boeken. We stellen het zeer op prijs dat als u mogelijke typ- of spelfouten hieronder tegenkomt contact met ons opneemt.
